Today we:
- Reviewed C, G and F chords
- Learned how to play a “ska” reggae rhythm/ strum
- Practiced “Three Little Birds” from our books- practiced it by solidifying the chords, and then applied our new rhythm!

- Reviewed our 1st finger E, and second (third for cellos) finger F#
- Learned about octaves! Found two different Es in our violin
- Practiced together and learned “Mary Had a Little Lamb” from our Brown Books

Today we:
- reviewed our chords
- C-F-G-Aminor
- worked on switching between chords
- started learning the song “I Lava You”
- C-F-G chords!
Beginning Strings 3:55
Today we:
- talked about warming up with stretches and warming up our bows and strings.
- went over E and F# and put pencil marks on the finger boards.
- spent some time working on our bow wrists trying to flex them
- try to put the bow tip on the strings and to stretch their arm way out while bending at the wrist.
– Assembled instruments and discussed practicing techniques
– worked through pages 3-5 in our blue book
– Reviewed basic music theory to identifying notes
– Please practice pgs 4-5
What we practiced this week- October 21st
Ukuleles 3:15
Today we:
* Warmed up by going over some of the chords we’ve learned so far: A min, C and F major
* Played and sang “Eleanor Rigsby” from our ukulele books
* Learned a new chord! The G major chord
* Practiced switching between C and G chords
* Practice and learned new song – “Three Little Birds” from our books!

Beginning Strings 3:55
Today we:
* Started class with a drill: Plucking and singing through all our strings
* Practiced elbow heights for string crossing and applied these techniques to play “Back and Forth” from our brown books
* Checked in with our first finger note “E” on the D string, and then introduced our second finger F# and third finger G ( cellos learned their 3rd and 4th finger )
* Sang and played through the first half of a D major scale
Don’t forget to assemble quickly before class to make the best of our time, and your instruments/ books every Friday!

* Played and ‘Yellow Submarine’ from our books together
